Nail Polish

What is it with little girls and nail polish???

Dinah has never played with nail polish, and Tyra has only played with nail polish once or twice at my parent’s house, but not here. But today we’ve had mishaps with nail polish TWICE! The first I will admit was partially my fault. I had painted my nails a couple of days ago and I left the bottle of polish on my bathroom counter. I don’t know why I still hadn’t put it away today, but Dinah found it and climbed onto my counter and splashed orange nail polish all over my mirror, my bathroom sink and poured it all over the bathroom counter. Luckily I caught her in the act and I was able to easily wipe up the majority of the mess before it dried. After that I did a final check and cleaned the rest up with nail polish remover and no harm done. 🙂

Then Tyra came home from school, and after nap time went outside to play, along with Jeremy and Dinah. After awhile I noticed that they weren’t playing in the back, and they were awfully quiet, so I went out to check on them. They were on the side of the house, and Tyra had my blue nail polish! OK I did NOT leave this one out, so she deliberately went into my bathroom closet, and got into my nail polish drawer and snuck it outside! She had nail polish on the fence all over her hands, Dinah’s hands (and face), on each of their dresses, and later I found some on the carpet in their bedroom closet (the same carpet that I spent several days, two months ago, cleaning.

WHY do these girls look so happy? They were sent to their room, to sit on their beds. I’m not happy, why are they so excited that I’m taking a picture of their mess??? And I’m still wondering how to get nail polish out of fabric. Does nail polish remover work on clothing and carpet too???
