Funny Lydia

Lydia didn’t have a nap today. We kept her awake through dinner, but she fell asleep during the First Presidency Christmas devotional. She woke up after the devotional when Kyle was trying to transfer her to her bed. Now she is WIDE AWAKE. Kyle asked her why she is so wide awake, and then said “I’m not going to get any sleep tonight am I?” Lydia answered with “Are you sick?”

Kyle went to the freezer to get out some ice cream, and took Lydia with him. She came back with a bag of chips saying “Mommy! I got you some chips” So I took them from her and she suddenly freaked out and said “Hey those are mine!”

She is just wide awake and that nap has her so refreshed and bright eyed. Of course Kyle and I are totally ready to go to bed, but we’re wondering when that’s going to happen…

Lydia’s Self Cut

Kyle got everything set up to give Ethan a haircut after church today. Ethan hates getting his hair cut and they have made a deal that Ethan can play on the ipad as long as he is in the chair getting it cut. So Ethan was playing on the ipad, and Kyle was quite intent watching the game, and Lydia was saying that she wanted a haircut too. While Kyle was watching Ethan play, Lydia pushed a chair over to the counter next to them where Kyle had put the hair cutting supplies, and she reached for the scissors. I was on the other side of the room and when I realized what Lydia was doing I called out to Kyle to stop her, since she was within arms reach for him. He looked up, and just as he realized what was happening, she snipped! She snipped off the her hairdo that I had put in for church, and that meant that she snipped off just about everything she had on the top of her head. 🙁

As soon as she realized what she had done she was upset that it happened.

Now she is going to need another haircut to fix this one, and she cut so much off the top that we can’t just fix it by giving her bangs. She will probably need a pixie cut or something else along those lines. 🙁

Adam’s 1st Home Depot Workshop

We went to the Home Depot kids workshop this morning, and the project was simple enough that we thought Adam could give it a try too. So this is his first time doing one of the projects at the workshop. 🙂

We brought the projects home and painted them before letting the kids put the stickers on, and Adam was super excited to carry his around constantly.

Jeremy’s 9th Birthday

Jeremy turned NINE today! For the past month or more he has been asking to go to Chuck a Rama, because a new location opened up pretty close to us in Lehi. Since it’s brand new, it has always been busy and we kept saying that we would wait awhile before checking it out. Well a couple of weeks ago he asked if we could go for his birthday, so we said we would. Then this past week, the Christmas catalogs were discovered by the kids, and Jeremy found something that he actually asked for. He usually doesn’t ask for anything, it’s very rare for him to make any indication of something that he is interested in. He is quite different from Ethan. When Ethan is interested in something he is OBSESSED with it and makes sure you know exactly what he likes and wants. So for Jeremy to request something from the catalog for his birthday, was kind of a big deal.

We started out the day with taking the kids to a workshop at Home Depot. They got to make “give and save banks”, basically a bank with two sides, one for giving and one for saving. Then we headed over to Toys R Us to pick up the item that Jeremy requested from the catalog. It was a Pokemon building block set. Then we ran a couple of other errands, before heading over to Chuck a Rama for a late lunch/early dinner. We were there for nearly two hours, and by the time everyone was finally done Jeremy declared that he was “so full”. I said that’s good, because since we weren’t home today I wasn’t able to make him a cake. He told me that that was ok. He’s a pretty laid back kid. Also, since we went to the toy store today, to get the thing he wanted, it wasn’t wrapped so there weren’t any presents to open tonight either. So we came home, the kids got ready for bed, and Jeremy sat at the table to play with his new Pokemon building blocks.WP_20141129_003
