Duct Work

We have heating and a/c ducts in the basement! We have been working on the basement for quite a long time now. Kyle isn’t home very much and we have been working on coming up with the funds to be able to finish the basement. The framing is almost done, and has been almost done, for over a year now. Well a friend from our ward does duct work for a living and Kyle talked to him and he was more than happy to help. So he came over and looked at our basement, then went out to get the supplies, and today he came out to install all the ducts. I am so excited. 🙂 We are just one step closer to having the whole thing finished. It’s still going to take awhile to get it finished, but we are closer and that’s what makes me happy.

Jeremy’s 1st Dentist Appointment

Jeremy went into the dentist for a ‘happy visit’ today. He has been talking about when it’s his turn for at the dentist, and has just been really excited about going. We got there and Ethan went in for his cleaning, and Jeremy went in to watch. Then Tyra went in for her cleaning. Jeremy watched from the waiting room as they did her x-rays. Then when they were ready to polish her teeth, they set Jeremy on the chair next to her just so he could see what it’s like to be in the dentist chair and get your teeth polished (even though they weren’t going to polish his this time 😉 ).

So they polished Tyra’s teeth, and then the dentist came in and checked out her x-rays (no cavities 😀 ) and he looked at and counted her teeth. Then he counted Jeremy’s teeth. Jeremy opened his mouth BIG and WIDE, with no problems or complaining. He did such a good job. 🙂

Dinah’s first attempt at nursery

Well this Sunday was a horrible one. Kyle woke up feeling yucky, the kids were not cooperating and getting ready for church when asked. I was subbing for Ethan’s primary class, which meant that I needed to finish making sure I had everything I needed to teach the lesson AND get the kids ready all by myself. Well didn’t have time for breakfast at all, and we were very late to church this morning.

Dinah decided she was going to choke on a fruit snack during sacrament meeting, and she has been doing that a lot lately. She starts choking, then to clear the passage-way her body decides to throw up. Well I saw her making that face like she was getting ready to throw up and quickly took her out to the hallway where we could find a trash can (thankfully we sat at the back of the chapel). She didn’t throw up but got it down, so we went back in to sit down. As soon as I sat down Tyra announced that she needed to go potty. So I got back up and took her to go potty. We got back from the bathroom and Jeremy announced that he needs to go potty too, but I told him to wait until it was time to go to primary.

After sacrament meeting I herded my children down to the primary room. I sat with Ethan’s class since that’s where I was subbing. Jeremy sat in his row, and Tyra sat in her row. I kept Dinah with me since she technically isn’t old enough for nursery yet. But after she finished the bag of fruit snacks, she was driving me crazy! I realized there was no way that I was going to be able teach and take care of this wiggly little girl. So while the junior primary were still in sharing time, I took Dinah down the hall to the nursery. I put her down and she seemed interested in the toys so I left her there and went back to primary.

I got back right before they dismissed the kids to their classes, and my class ended up being dismissed first. Ethan’s class and I had just gotten to our classroom, and I sat down and started pulling out my scriptures and my lesson manual when the nursery teacher brought Dinah in screaming. I guess Dinah was fine in the nursery until she discovered that I was gone (and obviously that didn’t take long). They had tried to calm her down with toys and snacks, but she just wouldn’t have it. Oh well, I think we will try again next week and see if she does any better.

Happy Valentines Day

Well it’s Valentines day and Kyle has to work tonight, so I gave him his present this morning. I really surprised him this time too. I love surpising Kyle, because it’s so hard to come up with an idea that’s actually going to surprise him, so when I finally do come up with an idea that actually surprises him, it’s awesome! This year for Valentines day, I didn’t want to just buy him a bunch of chocolate. He is trying to lose weight and I didn’t want to totally sabotoge him by buying him lots of junk. Not to mention the fact that we always have lots of candy around the house anyways. So I got him a small bag of chocolate covered cranberries (little bit of chocolate, little bit of dried fruit), and a big bottle of tomato juice. It was right across the aisle from the candies and it’s red the perfect color for a Valentines gift. 😉

Kyle got me a bouquet of purple roses and there were some white bell flowers in it too. And he got me a pound of my favorite See’s candies, and a bordeaux heart (yum).
